Shape Up Your Holidays with Fun & Festive Butter Gifts
Every butter geek looks forward to the holidays. We get to slow down, cozy up with friends and family – and cook and bake loads of buttery, creamy, drool-worthy comfort food to our heart’s delight.
Whether you’re hosting the festive feasts yourself or hopping around to seasonal soirees (socially distanced of course!), you’ll want to have some showstopping hostess gifts on hand. What better gift to give than your favorite better butter? While a few sticks or rolls will no doubt be appreciated, you can easily spruce up the creamy treat into a piece of stylish edible art. Just follow these steps to shape your butter into a sculpture. All it takes is a few minutes with a cookie cutter and a sheet of wax paper. We won’t judge you if you decide to keep the butter for yourself. We’ve all done it.
How Could Our Butter Get Any Better? Mold It!
First, figure out what type of butter you’d like to give to your lucky guests or party hosts. Salted or unsalted butter are big-crowd pleasers, but you can also infuse your butter with phenomenal flavors to create a more unique and personalized treat. Chives, garlic, and rosemary make for great savory spreads, while honey, vanilla and cinnamon will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.
Next, find a metal outline cookie cutter that is large enough to fill with the amount of butter you’d like to give. You can choose fun seasonal-themed shapes such as pumpkins, snowflakes, or gingerbread men, or classic shapes like a star or scalloped circle. We can’t imagine a better way to show your love than with a heart-shaped hunk of butter!
Place your cookie cutter on a plate or cookie sheet covered in wax paper and gently press your butter into the center of the cookie cutter until the shape is completely full of creamy goodness. Let the butter chill in the refrigerator overnight and voila – your butter masterpiece is complete!
Jazz It Up!
Wrap each butter-filled cookie cutter in foil or place in a decorative plastic gift bag and close with a ribbon. A true butter fanatic like yourself might want to keep a couple of these dairy darlings stocked on the top shelf of the fridge for whenever you need a present that’s ready to go.
