How To: Homemade Halloween Treats

The weather is cooling down and dusk comes sooner everyday – spooky season is finally upon us! I don’t know about you, but I love seeing all the creative decorations around the neighborhood this time of year – I’ve seen it all, from frightening to magical and everything in between. So, why not bring the spooky spirit into the kitchen too?

Even desserts can put on a Halloween costume if you make them at home, and who doesn’t want to eat a spider-shaped Halloween treat? There are plenty of creative, delicious and easy-to-make Halloween treats that will be a hit for children and adults alike, so it’s time to get baking!

Salted Pecan Pie Brownies

The end of October is that time of year when the weather is cool enough that we’re craving every fall flavor under the sun, but not close enough to Thanksgiving for an excuse to bake everyday. Luckily for us (and you, too), Halloween is the perfect opportunity to bake mini versions of our favorite Thanksgiving staples, like pecan pie!

Snicker Toffee Butter Bars

I don’t know about you, but the chocolate candy bars are the quickest to disappear from my candy bowl when the trick-or-treaters come knocking at my door. So, these butter bars are sure to be a hit on Halloween (and Halloween parties)!

Halloween Spider Cookies

The creepy-crawlies won’t be a problem with this spooky treat –  these spider cookies are so delicious, the kids will have them eaten before they even make it off your front porch! Pro-tip: take your Minerva unsalted butter out of the refrigerator before you start cooking so that it’s softened by the time you need it!

Mummy Brownies

Ever met someone who doesn’t like brownies? Yeah, I haven’t either! That’s why this brownie recipe is perfect for every Halloween party – right down to the homemade butter and cream cheese frosting that transforms this classic dessert into a ghost-approved treat!

Jack O’Lantern Brownies

Test out your piping skills on the marshmallows-turned-jack-o’lanterns in this recipe, but not too quickly! Decorating brownies before they cool completely might leave you with some sad, melted jack o’lanterns! Another pro-tip: melt a stick of Minerva’s sea salt butter before you start measuring ingredients, so it has cooled slightly before you start mixing everything together.

Red Velvet Marshmallow Spider Web Cake

Spider webs have never tasted as good as they do atop this spooky red velvet cake. And, it’s way easier than you think to spin your own web with melted marshmallows! Use room-temperature Minerva unsalted butter to take the buttercream on this cake to the next level.

Gooey Monster Cookies

Don’t have a lot of time to make cookies completely from scratch? Don’t fret! These monster cookies will take you under an hour to make from start to finish – that includes cooling time!

Zombie Guts Cinnamon Rolls

I hope you’re ready to get ghoulish, because these cinnamon rolls look scarily real – but don’t worry, they taste delicious! Fill your guts (the cinnamon ones) with a sweet butter sauce made with brown sugar and cinnamon – and make it even better with a stick of Minerva butter.
