the best 4th of July Desserts From Our Kitchen To Yours

We’re proud to share our love of butter with America, but we’re even more proud to be an American-born, family-owned company that has been operating for over 127 years right here in the heart of the country. In honor of Independence Day, we’re sharing our favorite celebratory desserts!

We’ll be honest, the fourth of July is a holiday that favors grilled foods. From corn on the cob to hot dogs, there is no shortage of BBQ options you can grill up. But, we’re here to convince you to give the other foods attention. And now, we’re not talking about the chips and dip you bring everywhere. We’re talking about what is typically your favorite meal item: the dessert.

We spent some time combing through our favorite patriotic, star-spangled sweets and goodies so that this year’s desserts give the grilled foods a run for their money. Get ready to bake your heart out with our favorite Fourth of July-themed goodies that can be dressed up to fit the red, white and blue occasion! Here are our must-have 4th of July desserts:

Berry Upsidedown Cake

Instead of the retro upside down cake you’re thinking of, picture a Berry Upside Down cake that has a tender, delicious cake and is sweetened with blueberries and juicy strawberries that’s simple and easy to make fun and decorate for the 4th of July. Sounds great, right?

Sheet Pan Slab Pie

Made on a quarter-sized baking sheet that’s easy to slice and transport and filled with the best ratio of crust to pie, you’ll want to serve this pie all summer long. Upside-down cakes can feature whatever seasonal produce is in season and can easily be created in a Fourth of July friendly way. So what are you waiting for?

Strawberry Galette

Basil is the herb of the summer, so we’re guessing that makes Strawberry Basil Galette makes it the dessert of the summer. A galette is a famous and beloved French dish composed of puff pastry dough and filled with deliciousness, in case you didn’t know. This galette combines the best of summer concoction that has our mouths watering just thinking about it.

berry trifles

Layers of berries, sweet pound cake covered strawberry jam chunks, and vanilla cream custard, seriously, what more could you possibly want? Big enough to serve a ravenous crowd, our berry trifle is the epitome of festive BBQ desserts!

White Chocolate Lemon Cheesecake Tart

Smooth and creamy with a sweet crust, this dessert is equally as satisfying as it is a beautiful dessert centerpiece. Bright, tart, and paired with a satisfying crust, it’s what your cheesecake dreams are made of.

No-Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Lush

While we’re cheesecake fans (clearly), this one offers a different option that’s equally as delicious. While lush makes you think of a swanky over-the-top confection, for this dessert, it just means a whole lot of layered deliciousness that can be made easily and simply and happens to taste rich.

In a family of 6 generations of butter lovers, it’s safe to say there was a lot of cooking…and a lot of butter. We encourage you to get in the kitchen, cooking with and for your loved ones. Always remember, if all else fails, just add butter!
